Altamont Software, Inc., this week completed implementation of CaptureWare at Quantum Imaging and Therapeutic Associates in Pennsylvania. CaptureWare provides a virtual print interface that allows any Windows application to print directly to any DICOM compliant system. By utilizing zero-footprint, browser based technology, CaptureWare eliminates the need to manage thick-client application software on each desktop in the facility.
"With Altamont CaptureWare, we were able to deploy faster, at more locations and at a lower cost than our previous solution,” said Cristy Klunk, Director of Teleradiology Services at Quantum.
In addition to virtual print, CaptureWare provides apps to scan clinical documents, import non-radiology images, and upload outside DICOM CDs to your PACS or EHR. Altamont will be demonstrating CaptureWare alongside their full suite of connectivity applications at the upcoming RSNA show in Chicago.

Altamont Software, Inc., a dynamic new entry into the medical imaging marketplace, will unveil the Altamont Connectivity Platform at this week’s Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual meeting in Pittsburg, PA. This platform is the foundation for a variety of image connectivity apps allowing sites to connect clinical images, photos and documents to their EHR or enterprise imaging infrastructure.
Inherent in Altamont's platform are enterprise level deployment, management, security and auditing functions which are often lacking in current offerings. “Our healthcare partner institutions have expressed frustration at the lack of basic enterprise functions that are readily available in non-healthcare environments,” said Haisley Carwin, President of Altamont Software. “Requiring IT staff to circulate throughout a hospital to manage or upgrade every desktop application is no longer a viable option.”
One of Altamont’s featured applications built on their connectivity platform is Image Inbox; a powerful tool to manage outside exams and automatically update patient and study demographics. Image Inbox offers substantial time savings by streamlining user intensive manual study reconciliation.
